What To Expect
Going to the Chiropractor is a new experience for many of us. Maybe we’ve heard through a friend or have done some research online. On the other hand, it’s possible that you are just fed up with living in pain, and it’s time to do something about it. In either case, your first visit to the Chiropractor will be about getting to know the Chiropractor and discussing your history, current condition, and goals.
Your First Visit
Health History – As with any doctor’s visit, you’ll start by filling out new patient paperwork. Your Health Resume tells us about your current complaints and your history of injuries or illnesses.
Consultations – We will review your health resume and take a further history of spinal impacts, including auto accidents, work, recreational, and sports injuries, along with the details of your current job and daily activities.
Clinical Examination – Your examination will include a thorough evaluation of posture, spinal palpation, and range of motion. These tests will help determine the physical extent of the restrictions that may be affecting your health and the function of your body.
X-Rays and Analysis – After we perform a physical examination, your specific condition may require us to take X-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you.
Same Day Treatment – Once we have completed your consultation and clinical examinations, we normally begin with your first treatment. Treatment may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies.
After Care Instructions – PrBeforeeaving, you will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include instructions on ice or heat application and avoidance of certain activities or positions.
Recommendation Report – At the end of your first visit, you will schedule your follow-up visit and recommendation report. In this second visit, we will look at the overall results of our consultation and the exams. Then together, we’ll create a plan of action with set measured goals to achieve our agreed goals. We will begin when you are completely satisfied and ready to move forward.
